History of the show
The Caddington Village Show has a long history but was revived in 2002 and held at the Baptist Church as a produce and dog show. The following year the show moved to its current venue at Heathfield Lower School, in the heart of the village, as a produce show and craft fair. In 2005 the organisers decided to take a well earned rest.
For a while the show was threatened with closure. However a group of mums from the village decided the show was worth saving. We revived the dog show, expanded the craft fair, provided children’s entertainment and brought in a brass band which added to the atmosphere. As a result the day was a great success and we were overwhelmed by the response from the villagers and village businesses.
More recently we have added even more exciting and fun events such as a climbing wall, hog roast, morris dancing, puppet show and travelling zoo. All this is thanks to the generous sponsorship, advertising and donations from local businesses, to whom we are very grateful. Caddington Village Show continues to be a non-profit, volunteer-run group that aims to celebrate village life. Any profits made will be ploughed back into the next show to provide a great day for everyone in the village.
